Getting so excited for my runway show at Vancouver Fashion Week this fall & sewing up a storm! Here is my newest addition to the SS16 collection: Magna Wake~Can’t wait to watch it float down the runway!
The DG Expo, a two-day fabric show for fashion designers, fabric stores, manufacturers, and retailers, took place this week in New York City. Held at the Hotel Pennsylvania in midtown Manhattan, the event featured dozens of fabric exhibitors and plenty of things to see! One of our designers, Elizabeth, had a chance to check out the show:
Amalya will be showing her designs at Vancouver Fashion Week this September 28th-October 4th. In the weeks leading up to the show, she’ll be blogging about her preparations for the event. Visit Amalya’s website to see more of her work.
Much to make! Luckily inspiration is rampant and gifts abound! The lovely Claire behind awesome vintage finds at ecoindisguise.com gave me this beautiful vintage upholstery fabric and I just couldn’t chose which side I like better!
No need to resist! I made a ~reversible~ Skirt! Fun florals pair wonderfully with my newly finished pink crochet crop (featured below), and the heavier weight fabric will be perfect for fall weather. I even created a paper pattern (which doesn’t always happen 😉 ) so I can forever embrace the two-sided “couch” fabrics that I love so much!
And here it is all finished on Brigitte!Stay tuned for peeks from this photoshoot we had yesterday as well as more and more new pieces before they debut on the runway!
We are pleased to embark on a new partnership with Sai Silks, Inc., a New York City fabric vendor specializing in silk fabrics including dupioni, shantung, taffeta, organza, patterned and embroidered silks, and other unique materials.
During several of our recent Garment District tours, Seek guests were welcomed into the Sai Silks showroom (nestled on West 39th Street in the heart of the Garment District) to learn about the company’s products and process.
